John Bartlett and Elizabeth Vinson
John Bartlett was born about 1805 and married Elizabeth Vinson, the daughter of West Vinson and Anna Giles.
William Bartlett and Frances McLain
William Bartlett was born in Alabama, per the 1860 census. He married Frances McLain on October 11, 1877.1 He was a farmer by trade.
They had the following children: James (1878-), John (1879-1882), William (1881-1961), Malinda (1882-1914), Ada (1883-1967), Wiley (1886-1962), Vannie (1888-1969), Mary (1889-1973), Horace (1892-1941), Harmon (1894-1982), Clarence Ray (1896-1968), Birdie May (1897-1998), and an unnamed infant (1900-1900). William died in 1934. James and John both died as children in 1882 - John died in August and his brother died in October. They are buried in the Haney Cemetery in Hawkins, Texas. James no longer has a headstone, but his footstone is by his brother. William married Lucille Mabson in San Angelo, Texas on February 16, 1916.2 They had one son: William Mabson Bartlett (1919-1969). Malinda married Jessie Younger McManus (1878-1960). They had the following children: Tilman (1908-1983), Truman (1910-1965), and Zella Mae (1912-1976). Ada married Walter Slayton (1876-1926). They had the following children: Gladys (1904-1985) and Astel (1909-1989). Wiley married Margaret Cobbs (1889-1966) and had the following children: Duran (1909-1967), Zelma (1911-2006), Lera (1913-1993), Charnel (1915-1990), and Wiley (1922-1978). Vannie Delma married Albert P. Slayton on December 10, 1905 in Wood County, Texas.3 They had the following children: Byrtle (1908-1972), Rayburn (1911-1987), Lucile (1916-), and Velma (1920-). Mary married William Cobbs (1883-1926). They had the following children: Alvis (1913-), Preston (1915-1977), Thomas (1918-1999), Donald (1920-2003), Roxie (1924-2007). She then married Clay Sarver (1889-1965). |

Horace Bartlett and Ethel Trammell
Horace married Ethel Pearl Trammel on April 23, 1924 in Navarro County, Texas. They had two sons: Horace (1927-2013) and Derwin (1933-2017).
Horace was a World War I veteran. He was also a member of the Free Masons. Horace was a foreman on an oilfield lease in Forsan, Texas. He was carrying a flaming container of gasoline when it spilled on himself. He died April 14, 1941 from his burns and damage to his lungs. After his death, his widow took their sons and moved to Big Spring. She worked for a time at the Big Spring Bombardier School during World War II. The school closed in 29146. She then earned her LVN license and worked for 25 years at Malone-Hogan Hospital in Big Spring, Texas.
