Now, I've got some cigar boxes - they belonged to her brother (and are referenced here) - but the box that she gave me was different. I'm not one to ignore a dream that I think is important, and as I've been collecting information (and really receiving it from my Grandfather) I've been paying close attention to the containers that they are in, waiting for THE cigar box.
I had told my best friend about the dream, but other than keeping an eye out for it, I didn't really tell anyone else. This past weekend, I went to my grandfathers. I mentioned the dream to him, but he didn't say anything about it - he just listened :)
Today, my grandfather purchased a tablet and I took him a user manual/walk through. While I was there, he asked if he had already given me the cigar box. No, I told him. We went upstairs, and as soon as he handed it to me, I knew - it was THE cigar box. He told me that it had belonged to his mother, and that it was full of pictures and a few letters.
I was so excited, I couldn't WAIT to get home and open it. When I did, I was stunned. Not only did I have a feeling that this was THE cigar box, but the pictures were incredible. Some were more recently (1970s) of my mother and her siblings...and then some were older. Looking closely at the other pictures, I realized that they were of family members that I had very few pictures of! I've included some of them, but will scan them all. No wonder the cigar box was so important :)
What a great end to a great day!
