I have found countless pictures of my ancestors with random people, generally their neighbors or friends. I've joked with my adopted family members that I'm going to be that person for them. Generations from now, some genealogist is going to be looking at the family pictures wondering who the heck I am because they certainly can't find me in the family tree. This picture is just another contribution. I absolutely adore this baby (please note amazing new blinds in the background too). She's my three month old "niece." It's hard to believe that three months ago I was standing next to her mother when this child was born. It was 24 actual hours of labor. I was there for it from the first hour until the last. She is my parent's first "grandchild." This picture was taken solely for Mimi, my mother. This kid even crashed my family reunion (and I'm pretty sure she's going to visit the one in October also). I think this might be one of my favorite selfies, and it's definitely because of the little lambkin sitting on my lap. |
